This winter has my skin feeling parched and that's why I'm switching to a thicker moisturizer. Usually I'll Use the CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion- its lightweight, smoothing, and comes in an easy to use pump applicator. It does the job and treats redness like no other. Using topical creams before bed (retin-A, acne creams) tend to REALLY parch skin- mix that with cold weather and you have a recipe for flaky skin! Nobody wants that. So I was browsing my local drugstore searching for something stronger and saw a giant TUB- the CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion. I decided ill try it out- it was around $17 but it looks like it could last me a year or more.
Instead of applying any topical creams that night, I applied the moisturizing cream before bed (I couldn't wait ><). It is definitely thicker than the lotion- but not oily or greasy feeling at all. When I woke up the next morning, my skin was the softest it's ever been. Now I wear it every day- I apply it every morning and let it sink in for around 10-20 minutes before applying my cosmetics. I also apply some to my neck, elbows, and knees- they tend to get really dry no matter what season it is. Moisturizing is the key to hydrated and healthy skin (and more h2o intake!) and really helps prep any canvas for the perfect makeup application.
