The holidays are over, the new year has come and the winter is upon us. Naturally, many of us hibernate and stay indoors to avoid the cold, but that doesn't mean it has to be boring. There are a lot of good movies out this time of year, here are our top reccomendations.
In our opinion, it's one of famous director, Quentin Tarantino's best works. Jamie Foxx plays a former slave Django, now a bounty hunter who sets out to rescue his wife, with the help of his mentor. However, the plantation owner, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, is not one to be easily bargained with. If action and humor are what draws you to the movie theatre, grab your friends and go see this film immediately.
We already have a girl crush on Emma Stone and can't get enough love Ryan Gosling, so this one seems like a no brainer. Another action film for you to snuggle up to, this movie is set in the 1940s and 50s in LA. A "good guys gone bad" squad is created in order to keep East Coast mafia folk out of the City of Angels. Whether you're into gangsta movies or vintage fashion, we think this one will be a hit.
If musicals are more your style, you have to see Les Miserables. Jean Valjeun, once a prisoner, now on parole runs from Inspector Javert during the June Rebellion in France. His path crosses with Fantine, a working class girl who has a daughter Cosette. We don't want to give it all away, but Jean agrees to look after Cosette, a decision that changes the lives of many forever. You'll have to see it to find out what happens for yourself but we have a funny feeling you'll be glad you did, once the Oscar's come around.
Which movies have you enjoyed this season?!
